Strategic Prevention Framework
( 1 items )
In 2006, the Butler County "We Can Be Drug Free" Coalition recieved a Strategic Prevention Framework State Incentive Grant from the Missouri Department of Mental Health to research and implement an intervention plan to combat "risky drinking", defined at binge and underage drinking targeting 12-25 year olds in Butler County. The focus of the intervention plan is to educate vendors and the general population in Butler County regarding alcohol related state laws and to address family management problems through Building Strong Families workshops offered to families in Butler County. In 2007, a DVD titled "It's Not Worth It" was produced to inform the public about binge and underage drinking and risky behavior. The video was released in 2008 and copies are available at the Butler County Community Resource Council. Contact Julie Keele, Project Director at 573-776-7830, for more information.
