The Meth Awareness Project PDF Print E-mail
The Butler County Community Resource Council, in collaboration with the Poplar Bluff Police Department, Butler County Sheriff's Office, and City Cable, has produced a DVD about the perils of methamphetamine as it has affected residents of Butler County. Funding for this project was made possible partially through the Caring Communities Initiative, Missouri Department of Social Services.


Welcome to the world of The Meth Awareness Project. Since the early '90s, Poplar Bluff and Butler County, Missouri, have been at the epicenter of the war on illegal methamphetamine production and addiction.   • Operation: Meth and Consequences is for general audiences and examines the price our society pays for meth. From law enforcement to health care, to environmental hazards, to rehabilitation -- we all pay a price for meth. (12:40)
  • Anyway ... I'm Not Stupid is for teen audiences. It is a fast and furious glance at the dangers of meth and the personal cost for those who become involved. More music and faster video edits increase the effectiveness of this video for teens. (5:26)
  • Exploring the horrible effects of meth on children, Black Butterflies: The Legacy of the Children of Meth in Butler County, is a dark, disturbing video. For general audiences, it raises awareness of meth's most innocent victims. (9:23)
